Welcome! On this page I will introduce myself. Normally, folks get the whole professional blog profile, that goes something like this:

Elizabeth was raised on the beaches of Southwest Florida and in the mountains of South Tennessee. A former technical writer, displaced by the economy, Elizabeth is currently a SAHM. In the course of the last year, she has learned that her passion for writing was definitely taking a non-technical turn. Instead, Elizabeth learned the joys of writing about life. Elizabeth offers a unique and often humorous perspective on raising children, living with teenagers, and life in general.

Elizabeth is the natural mother of three adult kids, and step-mother to four emotionally unique children. Elizabeth finds the good and positive in all situations, and the humor in most. She has also been blessed with two wonderful grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joshua.

On her blog, Elizabeth shares stories about her children, her life, and issues she cares a lot about. Her perspective on this is sometimes emotional, sometimes humorous, and always real.

In a nutshell, that's what it's all about. If you are still interested in hanging out,  here are the 10 things I think people would be most interested to know:

1. I like to think I have my priorities straight: God, Family, Love, Home
2. I have five dogs, and three cats. Yes, we DO think we have enough animals...
3. My youngest son is severely emotionally disabled, and is currently being treated in the hospital.
4. I trained as a paramedic in college - then decided not to follow through.
5. My oldest son is currently in college studying to be a network administrator. He still sleeps on my couch.
6. My step-daughter has been dating the same boy for a year, and it is making me nervous.
7. My father passed away when I was young, and I was raised by a very strong woman.
8. I don't need a man, I have one because I want him here.
9. I am seriously looking forward to the day when I don't hear "Mom, what's for dinner?" EVERY single day of my life!
10. I love to cook, yet can't seem to bring myself to share recipes on my blog regularly.

I am also a Star-Trek geek, a Star-Wars geek, and a World of Warcraft geek. Yes, I do speak geek fluently and know exactly what LEET LOOT is. ;)  My family plays e-mail RPG games for fun, and sometimes we table top for old times sake. I know what a D10 die is for. I am also addicted to XBox 360 and have most recently played and beaten Assassins Creed I & II, Fall Out 3, and BioShock 2. I also have a serious addiction to Half Life and Half Life 2... do you know who ate all the donuts?

I love to write, I am passionate about it. Until I lost my job, it was just that, a job... now it is a way to keep myself busy, and share my life with others.  I also love to take photographs, good or bad - doesn't matter! I started this blog as a way to collectively keep my family updated, share my writing, photography, and jewelry with others, and to make new friends.

Here you might find my unique take on life with the severely emotionally disabled, or pictures of my Pomeranian hopping around the yard like a rabbit. You might find heartfelt and poignant discussions on suicide and death, or stories about my childhood. It's pretty much a crap shoot!
